Melissa Scaramucci is an independent filmmaker with a history of service to the arts in Norman and Oklahoma City.

In her eight-year tenure with the deadCENTER Film Festival, Scaramucci took the small, bankrupt festival to an internationally recognized five-day event, developed associations with community sponsors, fostered relationships with filmmakers, worked to bring national attention to the Oklahoma film community and continuously promoted the festival and Oklahoma filmmakers with year-round events. She continues to serve deadCENTER by creating and promoting their annual winter fundraiser, GlitterBall.

Most recently, Scaramucci co-wrote and produced the holiday hip-hop movie, Finding Carlos, which opened statewide in December of 2020. Her work in film includes credits on the documentaries, Sweethearts of the Prison Rodeo, Okie Noodling II, and Flaming Lips: UFOs at the Zoo. She produced and directed the documentary ART 365, which chronicled the art and artists who received the first Art 365 awards from the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition.  She also wrote, produced, and directed the narrative feature, Making Arrangements. She co-wrote two shorts and the feature film, O’Brother, with her frequent collaborator, Lance McDaniel.

Scaramucci currently serves as the Vice President of Oklahoma Contemporary and is on the board of the Oklahoma City Ballet, serving as Community Engagement Chair. Her past service and board membership includes three full terms and Vice President of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Executive Board for the Norman Chamber of Commerce, Norman Public Arts Board, Vice-President of the Carrington HOA in Norman for six years, two terms with the Associate Board for the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art, and two terms with the Norman Arts Council for which she created the annual fundraiser, ONE. She has served multiple times as a grant panelist for the Oklahoma Arts Council and juror for the Quartz Mountain Summer Film Program. Scaramucci lives in Oklahoma City with her husband Todd and two teenage daughters, Stella and Sofia Scaramucci.
